WHAT WE BELIEVE
- The Holy Scriptures – we believe that the Bible is the Word of God, that it is alive, God-breathed, and useful for instruction, correction, and discipline. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; Psalms 119:130)
- Eternal Godhead – we believe that God is One, represented in three Persons – God-the Father, God-the Son and God-the Holy Spirit. We believe that God is eternal, all-knowing, all-powerful, everywhere at the same time, and unchanging. (1 John 5:7; John 1:1)
- Fall of Man – we believe that Adam’s disobedience in the Garden of Eden brought a curse of sin and death upon all creation. We believe this curse brings a separation of relationship between God, man, and the earth; corrupting God’s original purpose, bringing decay and ultimately death. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 5:12)
- Salvation through Grace – we believe that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth as a man to save men from the curse and penalty of sin by dying on the cross. We believe that the act of salvation is nothing that we as men could obtain by ourselves, but something that is done by God and freely given to us. (Ephesians 2:8; Romans 10:6-10; 1 John 1:9)
- Resurrection – we believe that Jesus was crucified in the flesh, buried, and raised again to life after three days. We believe that Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life, that as we die to live to Him, our outward desires and carnal cravings are crucified and we come alive in spirit. (John 11:25)
- The New Birth – we believe that one is born again when they place their faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that this ‘new birth’ is a spiritual birth or renewing, and that we are recreated in Christ as He lives in us and we live in Him. (2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20)
- Sanctification – we believe that we are in the process of being transformed into the image of Christ. This transformation happens as we die to ourselves and live to God. (1 Thessalonians 5:23; Galatians 2:20; Romans 6:6; 1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Peter 1:2-4)
- The Spirit-filled Life – we believe that the Holy Spirit is given to us to lead us unto Christ. We believe in the central role our relationship with the Holy Spirit takes in serving God, loving others, and transforming us unto Christ. (Ephesians 4:30-32; Acts 4:31; Galatians 5:16, 25)
- Body of Christ – we believe that the Body of Christ is made up of Christ-followers located in local cities and communities, and around the globe. We believe that the Body of Christ is first a family; that we belong to one another. We believe that together, we are called to represent (or 'again present') Christ in His fullness here on the earth. (1 Corinthians 12:27; Romans 12:4-5; Colossians 1:24)
- The Kingdom of God – we believe that Jesus was sent to earth to destroy the works of the devil, bring life back to a broken and cursed world, and restore God’s original intent and purpose on earth. We believe that Jesus is the King of God’s kingdom, and that God’s Kingdom advances through Christ-followers today. (Mark 1:15; John 18:36; Romans 14:17; Matthew 6:9-13; Matthew 25:34; Luke 1:31-33; 1 John 3:8)
- The Second Coming – we believe that Jesus is coming back to earth a second time as King to abolish all rule, power, and authority outside of God, and restore all things. (1 Corinthians 15:24-28; Matthew 24:36, 42,44; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 )
- Final Judgement – we believe that each man and woman will stand before Christ at the End Times to be judged for what he/she did in the flesh. We believe that salvation and reward will come to those who placed their faith in Jesus Christ and obediently served Him through the Holy Spirit, and that condemnation and punishment will come to those who did not. (Revelation 20:11-12; 2 Corinthians 5:10)
- Heaven and Hell – we believe that Heaven is God’s dwelling place and hell is separation from God. We believe that both Heaven and hell as they are known now will be changed at the final judgement, with God creating a new heavens and a new earth. We believe that God has reserved a place of everlasting punishment called the Lake of Fire for those found guilty at the Final Judgement. (John 14:2; Revelation 7:15-17; Matthew 14:41-42; Revelation 10:10)
